MO aka Emiliano Motta, Mo is an instrumentalist, producer, and composer who produces a big variety of music like dub, ambient/chill out, roots reggae, original soundtracks for movies, hip hop, deep Afro house, and a blend of sounds and styles that invokes a direct tribal/root connection.
After many years creating dub, reggae, and several soundtracks, he released 2 albums representing those 2 genders in 2014, dub and reggae. Two years after, he won a Mexican Academy Award (Ariel) for best original music in the movie “The Maraakame’s Dream”. He also released his first solo album like Mo in 2011 and the second one in 2018.
In 2013 he started performing in various festivals in Mexico, and a few years after he starts introducing his work and collaborations in the international scene, performing in festivals like Kupuri (Mexico) Ometeotl (Mexico) Nyege Nyege (Uganda) ABC (Burkina Faso) Roskilde (Denmark) Ritual (Mexico), and many venues and night clubs mainly in Mexico, Denmark, and Uganda, archiving great results at the dance floor with his fresh sound.
With a long career in music, blending all kind of styles and instruments, he starts developing a new sound directly influenced by African styles since he traveled to Uganda for the first time and performed at the first edition of the Nyege Nyege festival, developing a unique tribal-funky-dark-shamanic beat, using traditional instruments, synthesizers, vocals, and nature samplings, all together in a hypnotic “trance dance”.
His performance takes the audience to different places and emotions through soundscapes created with experimental and natural atmospheres, invocating an energetic celebration, or an introspective walk in the desert, normally including live instruments, flute, and drums.
